This is an authorised biography, commissioned by Jobs shortly after he was diagnosed with cancer in 2003. Given Jobs’s controlling nature and his often vicious defence of his privacy, there were grounds for fear that the official life might be an in-house whitewash, another example of the famous “reality distortion field” that Apple employees felt surrounded their boss.Nothing could be further from the truth. Jobs, reports Isaacson, maintained that he had “no skeletons in his closet that can’t be allowed out”. He didn’t ask to read the book, though he cavilled about the cover design, and he encouraged his biographer not only to continue grilling him on his deathbed, but to speak as extensively as possible to friends and enemies.

Synopsis

As far back as stories go, pioneers have reached for the skies. In the last two hundred years, they have mastered the air and made the modern world possible. Today they are bringing outer space within our reach. They're inventors and toymakers, amateurs and adventurers, visionaries, dreamers and, yes, crackpots. Some have called them irresponsible, even dangerous. But I have met many of them. I have worked with them, and funded them, and flown with them. I admire them, and trust them, and I think they and their kind are our future.

In this book I look at the history of flight through the stories and people who have inspired me. These are tales of miraculous rescues; of records made and broken; of surprising feats of endurance and survival, including some of my own adventures, as well as developments in the future of air (and space) travel. This is a story of pioneers, and of course it includes the world famous Montgolfiers and the Wright brothers. But I also want to describe some of the lesser-known trailblazers -- people like Tony Jannus, who in 1914 created the world's first scheduled commercial flight, flying his passengers over the waters of Tampa Bay at an altitude of just fifty feet; the ‘bird man’ Leo Valentin, who in the 1950s jumped from 9,000 feet with wooden wings attached to his shoulders; and my friend, Steve Fossett, who dedicated his life to breaking records and having adventures.

This is their story. It is also, in a small way, my own.

Ia boleh menjadi latar belakang yang sentiasa berubah dalam kehidupan harian kita, Contoh seperti tempat untuk kita untuk beriadah. Ia boleh bermaksud taman-taman , sebidang tanah terbiar, pantai, gunung, hutan. Ia juga adalah tempat di mana orang ramai berhubung dengan tempat atau alam semula jadi dan bagaimana mereka memberi reaksi terhadap pandangan sekitar seperti perasaan tenteram, nyaman atau seronok.Inilah yang kami cuba tampilkan di dalam Homestay kami (http://www.ibilik.my/short_term_rentals/127394/homestay-azzie-dn-emma), perasaan tenteram,nyaman dan seronok apabila berada di homestay kami.

Assalamualaikum..

Minggu ni adalah minggu ke 6 homestay kami beroperasi. Ribuan terimakasih pada para pengunjung yang telah sudi bermalam di rumah peginapan kami. Harap berpuas hati dan sudi datang lagi. Di sini terdapat beberapa maklumat berkenaan homestay kami.

Homestay kami merupakan rumah kediaman semi D dan mempunyai 3 bilik tidur dan 2 bilik air. Kemudahan yang disediakan adalah seperti berikut;
BILIK UTAMA
Katil saiz queen, kipas angin, air-cond,almari baju, cermin besar dan bilik air.
BILIK KEDUA
Katil bujang 2 unit, kipas angin, air cond, almari baju dan cermin besar.
BILIK KETIGA
Katil saiz queen, kipas angin, almari baju dan cermin besar.

Kami juga turut menyediakan 2 helai tuala mandi bagi setiap bilik dan sabun mandi di setiap bilik air.

Ruang tamu yang lengkap dengan lampu yang menarik, sofa, almari hiasan, meja kopi dan kipas angin.
Ruang menonton lengkap dengan tikar rotan, almari tv, kipas angin dan tv
Ruang dapur lengkap dengan peti ais, meja makan, dapur, peralatan memasak dan pinggan mangkuk.

Apa yang menarik di homestay kami?
Selain menjanjikan rumah yang selesa untuk didiami, tempahan sarapan pagi bagi pengunjung yang ingin merasakan keenakan masakan air tangan kami juga turut disediakan. Bagi pengunjung yang berminat, kami juga ada perkhidmatan sauna dengan harga yang sungguh berpatutan.

Laman luar rumah turut disediakan bangku dan meja taman, hiasan bunga pasuan,rumput dan tanaman hiasan.Di laman belakang pula, kami ada "edible garden" dengan pelbagai jenis tumbuhan herba dan sayuran.

Jemputlah datang ke homestay kami. Kami bersedia menjemput anda untuk menunjukkan jalan ke homestay jika perlu pada bila-bila masa. Nikmatilah percutian yang selesa di Melaka bermula di homestay kami.
